Description:
Immerse yourself in the world of animal care with a Keeper for a Day experience! If you love animals, are considering a career in zookeeping, or just want to get up close and personal with animal care, this is the perfect opportunity. You’ll shadow one of our zookeepers as they go about their daily routines, including food preparation, socialization, enrichment activities, cleaning, and general animal care.

This is the most immersive experience we offer. You will actively participate by assisting with feeding the animals (including our adorable baby genets), cleaning a couple of enclosures with our lovable lemurs, and helping with enrichment and socialization activities. There will also be opportunities to chop food and assist in preparing diets for the animals you’re feeding.

This program provides a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the daily responsibilities of a zookeeper, allowing you to experience firsthand what it’s like to care for these amazing creatures.

Materials to Bring: Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for working with animals.

Available Add-Ons: Not available for this experience.

Additional Information:

• This experience is highly immersive, so you will be actively involved in the animal care routines.
• Participants must be 16 years or older, or 10+ if accompanied by a parent.
• You will receive a confirmation email after booking. You do not need to print it, as your information will be added to our reservation system.
• Tours are done rain or shine, so come prepared.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Your reservation and support are important to us. We understand that sometimes, unexpected delays can occur. As a non-profit sanctuary, we depend on the revenue from our Animal Experiences to care for the animals here. Because availability is limited, our cancellation policy allows us time to sell these spots should an opening occur.

Our Policy:

• Cancellations made at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled experience will incur a 25% cancellation fee.
• Cancellations made within seven (7) days of the experience are non-refundable, and the full amount will be a tax-exempt donation to support our initiatives.
• If you wish to reschedule your reservation, you can do so free of charge as long as you provide a notice of at least seven days. After this period you can not reschedule your experience.
• If you are more than 30 minutes late for your reservation, we may be unable to accommodate you. In this case, the same cancellation policy will apply. We will do our very best to reschedule your reservation for another time that is convenient for you. No-shows will forfeit their event fee.
• We require a credit card and your reservation to be paid in full to hold your reservation date. Cancellation fees will be subtracted from booking costs, and the remainder will be refunded.
• In a true, unavoidable emergency, all or part of your cancellation fee may be applied to future services.
